Abstract

The extensive noise measurement program carried out before an after construction of an interstate highway through a suburban area of Louisville has demonstrated several significant facts about urban traffic noise. Apparently, little local public or official notice is being taken of noise levels in the study area, as demonstrated by the construction of two new hospitals in close proximity to the new highway.
