Abstract

The purpose of this study was (1) to determine pavement wear caused by studded tyres; (2) to evaluate the resistance of different pavement materials and textures to wear caused by tyre studs; (3) to test pavement materials and overlays to reduce tyre stud damage; and (4) to study the effect of studded truck tyres on pavements. The findings indicate that some pavement materials are more resistant.
