Abstract

An analysis is made of the change in accident patterns which followed the extension of trading hours at New Zealand hotels. The four hour extension from 6 pm. to 10 pm. produced a significant change in the time distribution of accidents. There was also a significant change in the daily distribution of accidents but this was not entirely due to the different drinking hours.
