Abstract

Data on various physical and traffic characteristics at 460 intersections throughout New Zealand were obtained. Also injury accident records were obtained. A series of computer analyses was carried out on the data. The final runs using multiple regression techniques. A matrix of accident prediction equations was derived which may be used to estimate normal accident rates at specific intersections.
