Abstract
The introduction of the 30 km /u speed limit in a residential area in the city of Deventer has lead to the following results (1) through traffic has decreased with 60% (2) almost all streets have become more quiet (3) the area has become less attractive for cycle traffic (4) children and elderly people are using public spaces at the same way (5) driving speed has decreased much (6) some speed decreasing measures have lead to aggressive driving behaviour and (6) severe near misses has decreased with almost 50%.
