In November 1979, new parking regulations were introduced in Leeuwarden city centre which significantly changed the parking situation. The Projectbureau for Integrated Transport Studies together with the Local Authority of Leeuwarden took advantage of the opportunity to establish the effects of these particular parking measures. The analysis of the data is primarily concerned with the direct effects on parking behaviour, the so-called primary effects. In this contribution the parking situation before and after the introduction of the parking measures are compared.
