Abstract
The main objective of the study is to examine how the introduction of the principle of 'territorial' charges would affect competition between the hauliers of the various Member States, by comparing the current situation with that following the introduction of territorial charges. This has been done in two ways: (1) macro-economically, by looking at countries as a whole, with hauliers on their normal haulage patterns, and (2) micro-economically, for specific international routes.
