Abstract

Eight years veere spent evaluating various education andtreatment programs for convicted drinking drivers in theUnited States. In addition, results of the evaluation ei-fort indicated that the diagnostic techniques veere valid,in that persons diagnosed as problem drinkers had doublethe rearrest rate as persons diagnosed as social drinkers.Also, there veere indications of effectiveness for educa-tion programs for social drinkers.'
