Abstract

The presentation mentioned in B 30677 is commented upon. An ideal laboratory approach to helmet design was presented. Unfortunately many other factors must be considered before the optimum materials are placed inside a crash helmet. If however, the helmet meets the test standards but is unacceptable to the user, then that particular helmet will not survive the market place.
