Abstract

At present in New Zealand open road speed enforcement is limited to micro- wave radar speed traps and pacing by black and white and inconspicuous patrol vehicles. This paper outlines the results of surveys undertaken to determine the effectiveness of radar enforcement both in causing motorists to reduce speed and in apprehending speeding motorists.
