Abstract

The results of several research projects concerned with the evaluation of the effects of automotive rear-signal system characteristics on driving performance are presented. Variables considered include colour, size, placement, location, and informational content of the signal systems. Experimental results indicate that almost any change from the current conventional system results in an improvement. /author/.
