Abstract

A method of analysis for determining the effects on energy consumption of a change in transport mode is described. The method used is the MACSIM model, which is based on the line parameters of sections of road, rail or waterway and which takes into account the different road profile capacities. Individual driving cycles approximately corresponding to the standard driving cycles under the same boundary conditions are generated for each section.
