Abstract

The effects of hypo- and hyperventilation on breath alcohol measurements are investigated. The average decrease of the measured results was ca 18% after hyperventilation, compared with results after hypoventilation. The duration of the hypo- and hyperventilation seem to play a less important rile. Consequences for forensic application are discussed.
