Abstract

To investigate the behaviours of a running vehicle with automotive tires on the guide way, a simulation model is developed with a three dimensional model of the vehicle body and the guide mechanism with the inertia and dash-pots. The model is successfully compared with the experimental data of a test vehicle which was an automotive truck with the mechanical guidance, and a characteristic equation is derived which is to be examined to explain the effects of the dynamical parameters of the guide mechanism such as inertia and damping factors on the running stability of the vehicle.
