Abstract

The ultimate objective of the research program which includes the study described here, is to develop design criteria for heavy highway tractor cabs with a view to increasing safety of operation by evaluating the effects of cab geometry, controls, displays and related features on driving safety. Details are given of the categories used in the driving behaviour task analysis and of the methods of validating the task analysis.
