Abstract

Simultaneous measurements of traffic noise and wind and temperature variables have been carried out for a period of 18 months 1,1 m above ground. The noise levels turned out to be functions of the gradients of wind speed and temperature. Different ground surfaces seem to be of minor importance for the noise propagation. The investigation shows that noise measurements need simultaneous micro-meteorological measurements.
