Abstract

The purpose of this project is to study whether it is possible to reduce initial losses - decay - and increase the effect by mixing tensides into the salt solution. Increased frost/thaw cycles caused by anti-freeze treatment with salt may result in frost heave and stone loosening on open pavings. Another disadvantage is that when salt is applied to roads, a mixture is formed which contains lighter and heavier oils and which causes increased surface tension in the water lying on the carriageway. This in turn leads to a greater risk of aquaplaning. For the covering abstract see ITRD E143097.
