Abstract

VINNOVA, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems, has released a report that explores the impact and value of transportation research in the areas of speed reduction, child passenger safety, whiplash and side impact protection, and traffic law enforcement. According to VTI, the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute, results from the study show that thanks to research Sweden saves 481 lives annually, representing a value of SEK 8.4 billion.
