Abstract

The use of tinted sun glasses and motor vehicle windscreen can impede the ability for noticing red signal lights, especially for people who have already a color deficient eye sight (protanomal and protanope). A number of light transmittance curves are given, as drawn by a spectrophotometer for some samples. A signal visibility ratio is devised, and specifications for transmittance properties are suggested.
