Abstract

Two investigations have been carried out into the wet road grip of lorry tyres. The first studied the effect of tread wear by examining the loss in wet tyre/road skidding resistance at progressive stages of tyre wear. In the second experiment the effect of varying the ratio of the groove to rib width in a longitudinally straight grooved tyre was examined. For several numbers of ribs.
