Abstract

AS NOTED PREVIOUSLY, AN ADVANCE IN THE PHASE OF A VEHICLE'S LATERAL ACCELERATION RESPONSE HELPS IMPROVE THE DRIVER'S CONTROL PERFORMANCE. A SERIES OF TESTS USING A DRUM-TYPE LATERAL MOTION SIMULATOR ON MANY DRIVERS PROVED THAT THIS TENDENCY BECOMES MORE REMARKABLE WITH UNSKILLED DRIVERS THAN SKILLED ONES AND THAT THE ADVANCED PHASE OF SUCH VEHICLE RESPONSE WILL BRING ABOUT A BETTER SUBJECTIVE RATING WHETHER THE DRIVER IS SKILLED OR NOT.
