Abstract

A time series analysis of the efficacy of inspection in reducing fatalities, injuries and accident, using New Yersey data, is presented. An econometric model is developed to evaluate inspection while accounting for various socio-economic factors, as well as technology and driving related variables. Results of the econometric study are then used to carry out a partial cost benefit analysis of the system of motor vehicle inspection.
