Abstract
After the introduction of luminance evaluation into the provisional German standard on street lighting, DIN 5044, the development of cheap luminance meters to supplement the very accurate and expensive ones was thought necessary. A visual apparatus is described the comparative luminance of which can be determined with a commercial luminance meter.
