Abstract

This paper reviews ejection statistics, and presents data on drop tests simulating dummy ejection through glazing. High Penetration Resistant windshields, and tempered glass and glass-plastic side window glazings, were studied. The glass-plastic side windows used were tempered glass coated on the vehicle inside surface with experimental plastic layers by Saint-Gobain Vitrage, 3M Corporation, and DuPont.
