Abstract

This international bibliography includes abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles on the problems of and risks to the elderly driver (variously defined as 55+, 65+ and 75+). Information is included from papers on the health of the elderly driver, their vision, reaction times and ability to perform tasks demanded divided attention. Abstracts of the papers are also included on the accident rate amongst elderly drivers, the application of new technology (such as navigational aids and parking guidance), risk behaviour at intersections, the licensing of the elderly driver, and advice and information services for the elderly driver. The items have been selected from the material added to the Transportation Research Laboratory's Library Database between 1992 and 1994.
