Abstract

Results are given of an investigation into the behaviour of male driving licence holders, more than sixty years of age. It is shown that the pattern of traffic behaviour of elderly drivers varies characteristically with age,; the older they get, the less they drive. The frequency of police-reported accidents and offences is remarkably low in the oldest driver groups, compared to that of drivers in the 40-44 age group.
