Abstract

This issue of Current Topics includes over 70 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on aspects of electronic route guidance for drivers of vehicles on the highway. Amongst the subjects on which abstracts are provided are applications of route guidance such as traffic control, in-car navigation, dynamic route guidance initiatives in various cities and various assessment studies of driver reaction, route choice and the effects of guidance on driving performance. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 2002 and 2004. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database. The previous edition of this title, CT29.1, covered articles added to the database between 1994 and 1996 (see C 6660 S). Abstracts for the years 1996-1998 can be found in the previous issue of this title (Current Topics in Transport 29.2 (see C 14361 S). Abstracts for the years 1999-2001 can be found in Current Topics in Transport 29.3 (see C 19358 S).
