Abstract

This short paper describes the investment package for the overall traffic and transport system in Stockholm. The package includes infrastructure investments in the order of 4 billion ECU's during a ten year period, half of it to be financed through road tolls during a 25 year period starting by end of 1997. The road toll system envisaged will constitute state-of-the-art within the field of electronic fee collection, and will furthermore constitute the backbone in an overall ATT strategy for Stockholm. Brief details of the automatic fee collection system are provided. This includes a short description of: a) the transport card; b) hazardous goods monitoring; and c) the vehicle registration card.
