Abstract

Is it possible that cognitive processes, necessary for the basic cycling skills, influence other cognitive activity related to traffic behaviour? Are the possible influences mutual? Are the effects dependent on the bicyclist's degree of experience (i.e. the degree of automatization of the cycling skills) and if so, the question arises what the nature of this influence is. These questions are the basis for empirical research with a strict experimental design.
