Abstract

In this paper carbon emissions are calculated at the 38 Greek airports. The fuel consumption database EMEP/CORINAIR is employed. It is found that 685 tones of CO2 are emitted at Greek Airports. Total CO2 emissions were estimated to be more than 2000 tones in 2008. Almost half of this amount is due to transport of tourists and is generated in the summer period. Cruising contributes more than 60% of total pollution.
