Empirical estimation of the regression-to-mean effect associated with road accident remedial treatment.

Abstract

A new method of estimating the regression-to-mean effect is proposed. Unlike other approaches to this problem, the method is based on the simple idea of fitting a straight line to a scatter plot of "before" and "after" accident frequencies.
