Abstract

Methods and issues involved in the selection of urban mass transit bus drivers and bus drivers in other settings (inter- city, trucking, school) are reviewed. The Transit Operator Selection Inventory (TOSI), designed to select urban drivers, is described, and evidence for its validity in predicting significant criteria of job performance and for its lack of adverse impact against females and other discriminated people is presented.
