Abstract

The car satisfies diffuse transport needs. Political groups only see a nuisance in motor vehicles. Possible improvements are often hindered by regulations. In view of the threatening energy scarcity energy consumption must be decreased. Air resistance and the effects of rolling resistance of vehicles can be reduced and a good road-system is needed. Measures against pollution and noise can be energy-consuming. Petrol and the internal combustion engine remains the most satisfactory.
