Abstract

The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the impacts of selected traffic signal systems improvement strategies and develop policy guidelines for the strategies in the light of current realities such as increasing passenger delay on surface streets, high costs and scarcity of fuels, concern about environment etc. The existing simulation and optimisation model TRANSYT was applied. Major findings of the research are presented and discussed.
