Abstract

TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board 1880 examines a nationwide survey on the characteristics of heavy-duty truck idling, federal requirements and state implementation considerations of transportation control measures, engine and weight characteristics of heavy-duty diesel vehicles and improved on-road mobile source emissions inventories, an eight-step process for assessing indirect and cumulative impacts of transportation projects, and the effectiveness of locomotive horns at operating speed. The papers contained in this volume were among those presented at the 83rd Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board in January 2004.
