Abstract

Oil and natural gas are finite and increasingly expensive energy sources. Recent research has increased the technical feasibility of some alternatives. One of the most accessible and attractive is biomass- plants and trees, which can be used as feedstocks for chemical production and directly or indirectly, as fuel.
