Abstract

The possibility is considered of reducing fuel used by motorists by bringing about a change in the way they drive their cars. It is thought unlikely that a programme aimed at educating motorists to drive economically would have any lasting effect, but that it would be possible to install a small computer or microprocessor in a car to ensure that the vehicle was driven in an economic fashion. The possibility of such devices becoming widely available is briefly discussed.
