Abstract

A general outline is provided of the physical environment in which cyclists currently operate within Australia, and examines in very broad terms how engineering methods might be used to reduce bicycle accident safety risk. Consideration is given to the engineering commitments that will be needed to effectively implement any changes and to factors that may mitigate against such commitments being made.
