Abstract

This paper describes recent work in vehicle re-identification procedures applied to individual vehicle data (IVD) from highway inductance loop systems. Vehicle reidentification is the process of matching data from sensor systems at different locations so as to track an individual vehicle down the highway. The paper describes the data used to drive the algorithms, and gives a method of visualising the data to aid manual re-identification and algorithm design. The paper briefly describes the algorithms themselves and also discusses some potential applications. For the covering abstract see ITRD E134653.
