Abstract
The combination of tyres and road surfaces determine in an important amount the risk of danger. Research can lead to technical measures for the decrease of this risk. The difficulty for the road use is that the risk of skidding is not the same in time and location. The estimation of the optimal braking force distribution curve has consequences for the braking force distribution curve has consequences for the braking efficiency and vehicle handling. If the braking force distribution is not optimal, the wheels can get locked.
