Abstract

In this paper a general dynamic (as a system of difference equation) framework was given for programming models in a regional context. Two types of these models were discussed, viz. linear programming and optimal control theory. An application of both types was given. Linear programming was applied on a model for a stagnating town and optimal control theory was applied on a model for dispersion of pollution, traffic and investments. A last application of both types was suggested for a dynamic migration model.
