Abstract

The increasing mobility in passenger transport is characterised by a high demand for the provision of reliable and up to date information concerning the traffic situation and availability of all means of transport. To fulfil these requirements, the project ENTERPRICE (Enhanced Network for Traffic SErvices and InfoRmation Provided by Regional Information Centres in Europe) is carried out by European partners under the leadership of the Hessian State Road and Traffic Authority to improve the multi-modal information and to provide authorities the platform for decisions in the frame of their traffic management activities. The core of the project is the development of a MObility and Traffic Information Centre (MOTIC); additionally, a number of information services will be realised using and disseminating traffic information provided by MOTIC.
