Abstract

TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, No. 2158 includes 18 papers that explore environmental analysis in transportation, cumulative effects analysis of long-range transportation plans, diesel vehicle emission factors for short road segments, transportation and land use policy effects on air quality, bus technology meta-analysis, modal emissions and traffic simulation models, portable emission measurement systems, air quality simulation, and emissions of nonroad diesel construction equipment. This issue of the TRR also examines emissions sensitivity to traffic volume, fleet composition, and average speed; cold start emissions from light-duty vehicles; in-vehicle exposure to fine particulate matter; I-90 Snoqualmie Pass East project; acoustic aging of road pavements; acoustic radiation from pavement joints; recycled materials in highway construction; and environmental and sustainability impact assessment of U.K. infrastructure.
