Abstract

In Great Britain, as elsewhere, increasing environmental awareness has led to the inclusion of environmental considerations in the evaluation of projects for building new roads or making road alterations. This paper discusses some of the interesting problems which arise in this connection. An evaluation scheme developed for Great Britain is presented as an example.
