Abstract

This study deals with the use of behaviorally- oriented criteria for assessing environmental quality of residential one- way streets. The two main aims of the study are: (1) to establish objectives for environmental design based on residents'perception of traffic and design variables; (2) to develop a subjective procedure for assessing environmental quality and to verify the extent to which the results obtained with the proposed procedure agree with existing procedures developed in Europe.
