Abstract

Fuel consumption improvement brought about by the use of an aerodynamically styled truck tractor is described. In comparative tests with this two-axle vehicle, called "Paymaster", and a conventional three-axle truck tractor, the former returned a fuel consumption of 7.5 and the latter a consumption of 5.1 miles/gallon for the same 168-mile journey.
