Abstract

Establishing basic design, safety, and esthetic standards and criteria interchange design process is not a panacea. The designer still faces a high degree of uncertainty regarding the actual operating characteristics of each completed facility. Driver behaviour can be observed for conformance with the behaviour presumed in establishing design criteria. Operating characteristics of a freeway to freeway interchange are discussed.
