Abstract

Principal sources of error and magnitude are- 1) for the direct method. Relative error on time, 2, 6% relative error on g is approximately 0.1 (by the approximate equation and is carried along. Relative error on scale factor on length, less than 0, 1%; 2) for the indirect method, cumulative error in smoothing and differentiation of two significant figure displacement data. Relative error on angular measurement is of the order of 1%. Relative error on time for a quarter period is estimated to be 2, 5%, hence it is concluded that numerical processing contributes approximately 12% to the relative error, in this particular case.
