Abstract

The first part of this report discusses the major requirements set for an organized traffic survey system, that is, universality in its purposes, permanency in its handling the problem and uniformity in its design and execution. It sets out a classification of the road traffic research. The second part of the paper concerns the general principles which should be considered while working out a permanent system covering all the requirements.
