Abstract

TRRL has measured the light reflecting properties of a number of different road surface constructions, in all wet conditions. These measurements have been analysed, together with weather data, to provide reflection tables for the design of lighting in wet conditions. Road surfaces show great changes in reflectivity in various states of wetness. Nevertheless, some generalisations are possible.
